No Butts Maureen Kicks The Habit After 56 Years

A granny has kicked the habit of a lifetime by quitting smoking in time for the nationwide ban.
Maureen Burleigh, 71, has smoked 20-a-day since she was 15, meaning she has puffed her way through a lung-busting 392,000 cigarettes! Maureen, who appropriately lives in Butts Road, Stanford-le-Hope, said: “I can hardly believe it. At first I was so angry with the Government, I thought it was taking my rights away.”
“But then I realised they were going to put another 11p on a packet of 20 cigarettes and that's when I thought enough's enough.”
